5 Pro Guide Tips (digital download)

What’s cool about guiding full time since 1998 is that I have had the chance to learn all kinds of cool little useful tips and tricks. Some were shown to me by other guides, fishermen and clients. Others were borne of necessity when I needed a better mousetrap. Then, you have the whole “dumb luck-stumbled into it” category. Over time, you get a pretty nice little catalog of these things that make your life easier and, sometimes even make you a better angler.

Anyway, for this book I wanted to come up with a list of tips I thought were cool and helpful. I tried to narrow it down to ones that had broad appeal. While a specific trick on how to cure sardine wraps for plug fishing would be interesting to river salmon anglers, it would probably bore everyone else.

As I continued to think about which tips to include here, it dawned on me to go with some of the ones that have always been fan favorites on my boats – the ones that get the most “I’m gonna try that” or “Wow, such a good idea, can’t believe I never thought of that one” type reactions.
